Order
of Eternity is devoted to maximizing the potential for fun, for all its
members. We strive to develop relationships that transcend the game,
mixing joviality, friendship and loyalty. While our focus is a fun,
relaxing atmosphere, we do raid at a pace appropriate to our member
participation. OoE Is not a democratic institution, but policies and
decisions are aimed at the betterment of the collective whole. Loyalty
and friendship best describe our core values.
- OoE Leadership
|
A.
GENERAL: These are the player guidelines for the World of Warcraft player's guild <Order of Eternity>, located on the Whisperwind server. It is the duty of all people belonging to the guild to know and adhere to these guidelines. While this has been written by the officers and Leader of the guild, input is always welcome and revisions will be made as our guild evolves. These guidelines have been approved by guild leadership.
B.
STRUCTURE: OoE
assigns guild status titles as follows. Please note that the ranks listed below
refer to authority and access, while specific duties will be denoted in a

C.
RECRUITING: The guild Emissary is our
recruiting officer. As such, he/she is responsible for administering this. OoE's
Lord and Chancellor have final say in all recruiting matters. Anyone reading
this should know that OOE reserves the right to stop or resume recruiting at any
time based on the needs of the guild.
1. How to Join: To Join Order of
Eternity, you must have a Sponsor. Any fully guilded, non-probationary OoE
member may sponsor a new recruit.
- In sponsoring someone, guild members
attest to the recruit's potential worth and compatibility with the guild.
Members wanting to sponsor someone should contact an officer for the new
Page's invite.
- If a potential member is accepted as
a Page, the Sponsor carries the responsibility of helping with their
integration into the social and activities structure of the guild.
- Each new potential member must fill out an
application in the "Looking to Join" forum in the following format
(which may be copied & pasted to answer each question):
-------------------------------------
Application: Order of Eternity
-------------------------------------
Basic Info:
-Character Name(s):
-Race{s}/Class(es):
-Level(s):
-Are you or any of your alternates currently guilded?
-Please list any previous character/guild history.
-Have you ever played any other MMORPGs?
Goals and Expectations
-How did you hear about Order of Eternity?
-Why do you think OOE is right for you?
-What are your expectations from OOE?
-Have you interacted with any of our members?
-What are your goals for your character? What do you enjoy doing in WoW?
What do you not enjoy?
-What are your play hours and general schedule? How often do you play?
-Sum up your experiences in WoW to date.
Forums and information
-Have you read all the stickied posts in this forum?
-Have you read the OOE Guidelines?
-Have you activated your board account?
-Do you have any questions for us?
2. Probationary Members: Probationary members
carry the OoE tag and can participate in guild chat.
- Pages are expected to read the guild
guidelines prior to expiration of their probationary period.
- An Emissary will start a thread in
the General Membership forum announcing the page. All guild members are
encouraged to reply with feedback on the page's progress towards membership.
- While in this status, they carry the
rank of "Page" and are expected to spend their time getting to
know their guildmates and officers by participating (both socially and
grouping/raiding with as appropriate).
- Pages must maintain regular contact
with their sponsor
- Emissaries will also provide regular,
unsolicited feedback to the Guild Lord and/or Chancellor on all probationary
members.
3. Responsibilities of Sponsors: While fulfilling
the role of Sponsor, guild members must do the following:
- As soon as your page is invited, post
an introduction of your page on the "Looking to Join" forum (your
page may then follow up with further information about themselves if they
wish). This is to help assure you have gotten to know your sponsee well.
- Sponsors are responsible for
coordinating between the Emissary/Officer and the recruit for their
interview and the initial invite.
- You must post weekly detailed updates
regarding your page in the members forum, on the thread set up to record
feedback on your page. Failure to do this may result in termination of your
page's recruit period and restriction of your ability to sponsor pages in
the future
4. Promotion to Full Members: After 1 month
as a probationary member, the upgrade process begins. Pages may request their
endorsement process begin as early as 1 week. If circumstances warrant, a page
may stay in this status for up to 6 weeks (at which time guild leadership must
make a determination):
- An Emissary will post a call for
endorsement in the general membership forum. Any officer may endorse the
Page and only one endorsement is needed. Please take note: The sponsor must
concur with the upgrade.
- New recruits will be automatically
promoted as long as at least one officer endorses the promotion and no other
officers of the guild oppose it. In those cases where the sponsor is either
an officer or emissary acting as sponsor, another officer's endorsement is
necessary as they cannot fill both roles.
- When any officer's have opposing
views on the Page's promotion, they're encouraged to post in the Officers
Forum. The issue will be resolved in accordance with paragraph G2.
- Once an endorsement is received and
any issues are resolved, an Emissary will move the Member-Input thread off
the active message board and contact the guild Elder, Chancellor or Lord to
make the page's promotion.
- If this hasn't already been done as a
page, it is at this time that the newly-promoted member is expect to have
any other characters on this server guilded with OOE
5. Family Clause: Fully-guilded members
may be eligible to have family members come in to OOE without first becoming
pages or being endorsed. The intent of this clause is to encourage fellowship by
fostering a family atmosphere. Members should fully understand and accept that
approval is not automatic; be prepared to have family member(s) go through the
entire process. Approval/Disapproval may also be based on the current state of
the guild (membership size, needs, morale, etc.).
- "Family Members" (in this
context) includes, but is not limited to immediate family, spouses and
significant others.
- The number of members that may be guilded
under this clause is limited to 2 in any 6-month period.
- The prospective (new) member must
post an introduction to the guild (or fill out the application) in the
"Looking to Join" forum.
- To be eligible for this accelerated
process, members must contact the guild Elder, Chancellor, Emissary or Lord
for an interview (which will be with the requesting member, not the
perspective addition)
- If the senior officer/emissary
performing the interview believes it is warranted, they invite and promote.
- Throughout this process, a message
thread will be established in the officer's forum to facilitate
communication and provide visibility to the leadership.

D. MEMBER
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Guild
Members are expected to participate
(either by grouping, raiding, chatting or interracting on the message board).
2. If a member has more than one character, they need to declare
one of them their "Main".
This is the character that that represents your membership and are working to
develop over the long term. While Main changes are allowed, this should be rare
occurrence so make your decision carefully. Main characters receive special
consideration in being able to participate in raids and loot. Generally this is
your best equipped, most developed character".
3. Members gilded with OOE may not
have alts in other guilds. This is
in keeping with our orientation that the person (not the toon) is a part of this
group.
4. Guild members transferring mains or alternate characters to another server,
or giving control of their account away to a non-OOE person, must
inform an officer before doing so.
Notification may be made either on the message board or in-game.
5. Guild Members are expected to refrain from "Bad Behaviors". These
are actions or statements which
reflect poorly upon the guild. Some
of these include: Belittling guild members publicly, bigoted/racial/sexist
comments, loot whoring, training, KSing, lying. If in doubt as to whether or not
something witnessed constitutes bad behavior, consult an available Officer.
Complaints against member conduct are best when supported by a screen shot with
the cursor over the time, and an unmodified log. If misconduct is substantiated,
the offender is given one warning. Any subsequent infraction(s) will trigger
disbanding.

E.
GUILD RAIDS/ACTIVITIES: The majority of
these guidelines apply to OoE-sponsored Raids as well as to any non-guild player
wishing to raid with OOE. Any member of the guild may set up and sponsor their
own raids as long as they coordinate with an officer prior to posting for the
raid (with sufficient notice to raiders), except for new level 80 game content
which will only be run by an officer of the guild.
1. Raid ID Preservation: Guild Main
characters are expected to preserve their Raid ID's for guild activities.
Because of this, mains are not allowed to attend any out-of-guild raids for
content currently being covered by guild activities. The following stipulations
apply:
- "Current Content" is
defined as any raid instance for which there is an OOE raid posted within
the next 4 days (raid Signups are made in this
forum).
- If a guild member signs up for, yet
is not included in a particular raid (alted), they may attend an
out-of-guild raid for that content - without permission - prior to the
raid-ID reset.
- If any other circumstances arise
where a member would like to attend an out-of-guild raid for content that IS
being covered, they must ask for permission from the Guild Lord (Infynite)
or any Council Officer prior to attending. This
is best done via private
message here on the OOE Message Board.
2. Signing
up and Getting in:
- Anyone wishing to attend Raids
sponsored by OoE must sign up on the OoE Website in the "Raids and
Events" Forum.
- Sign up if you have any intentions of attending
the raid and indicate if there are any stipulations to your availability.
Letting us know ahead of time helps us prepare.
- Signups must be registered at least 1
day prior to the event to give time to formulate the list. As a general rule
signups are opened 2 days prior to the event.
- If a sign-up link is provided on the
signup notification post, you must use it.
- If the signup call post specifies a
certain rating or proficiency level to qualify, it is the responsibility of
the raider/player to have this verified with an officer of the guild at
least 1 hour prior to raid start time.
- Expected Raid Duration will be
specified in the signup post. Those who sign up commit to attending the
entire event.
- You may be required to post
information as to your Resists or Abilities-the signup utility will inform
you if this is the case.
- If you do sign up for an OOE Raid,
you're expected to preserve your raid ID for that instance.
- New raiders and less frequent
attendees are always encouraged to sign up.
3. Making
the List: The list that
comprises the accepted and slotted raiders is made primarily on the following
factors: Balance, Scheduling, Level of Gear (proportionate to the encounter),
Specialization with more experienced raiders given preference in more difficult
content. In all cases you must sign up in order to be considered.
- Raid attendance slots are comprised
of a split between those given preference due to their attendance and
randomly chosen players for the remainder. The ratio of these two factors
varies based on the needs of the encounter (e.g., experience -vs- wider
participation).
- Those not chosen for a raid slot are
placed on the "Alternates" list. Empty slots at raid start time
are filled from this list in no particular order with the emphasis on
raid/class balance.
- Those on the Alternates List will
receive credit for attending that raid as long as 1) They're online and
ready to attend at raid start time. 2) They have checked in.
- Any Alternate who is placed on the
Alternates list three times consecutively (due to any reason) will be
automatically included in the next raid they sign up for. This rule is
intended to prevent anyone with poor luck from being excluded repeatedly
4. Raid
Voice Communication: We make
use of Teamspeak for these raids. You can download teamspeak for free at http://www.goteamspeak.com/.
Once installed, use the Quick
Connect menu option, you can enter the info below to connect. For
those who cannot use teamspeak: We try never to exclude anyone based on their
acceptance of Teamspeak, provided they can still perform their function in the
raid adequately. In other words, you are welcome to make your own personal
choice, but we prefer you try Teamspeak, even if it's just to listen through
your speakers. You do not need a microphone, only speakers. This server is
always up, so you can test it at any time. Connection Info as follows:
- Server: ts.orderofeternity.com:9966
(note that you need port 9966 open to do this if you are using a firewall)
- Password: ooets
- Nickname: Your In-game name
- Login: leave blank
5. Come
Prepared:
Raiders must show
up on time; if not, 10 minutes after start time late raiders can expect to lose
their slot. Further, each raider should be ready to raid with the following:
- Any components they need for
spells/buffs
- Bag space
- Fully repaired gear
- Backup source of food and water
- A Macro that says '/assist <name
of ma to be put here>'. We use a MA/MT system where the main assist will
be taking the first target of the main tank in battle, and the raid will
assist the MA so the main tank can manage group aggro. Assist macros are
important to focus damage and allow crowd control to do their job.
- We also highly recommend first aid as
a skill for all raiders, regardless of class. Self heals and free heals are
often important in large fights where the healers cannot watch everyone, and
can be the key to success.
6. Raid
Invites:
- Invites will be started within an
hour of start time.
- Raiders are expected to be in the
designated raid channel and contact the check-in person (who will be named
by the raidleader).
- Raiders must be attuned via quest.
- Level 80 Raiders will be given first
priority, but those of an appropriately-close level may be included when
there is need, at the raidleader's discretion.
7. Summoning:
Please do not expect a summon to the raid. We will offer summons if we are in a
position to do so, but most of us run to the raid area, and we would ask that
you do the same. You may ask for a summon to a raid site at any time, but please
understand that you may not get one.
8. Non-Guild
Players on OoE Raids: Non
guild members and friends may be invited at the discretion of the raidleaders.
Attendance at OoE raids must be cleared well in advance with the raidleader.
Guild members take priority for raid spots, but guild members may be left out of
the raid if they are late for start time and the spots have been filled.
9. Un-Official
OoE Raids: Any guild member,
at any time, can run their own raid (member-raids are highly encouraged, as a
matter of fact). To do this, first coordinate with an officer then post a
message in the appropriate section on the message board - clearly state what
(objective, basic strategy, prerequisites), where (where should people meet) and
when (date and time with time-zone). Give people time to plan for your raid. You
can also request an officer add to the guild MOTD an announcement for your
upcoming event.
10. Raid
Etiquette:
- All raiders are expected to SIGN UP
even if they think they'll be late, or theres only a small chance they'll
be able to make it.
- All raiders are expected to listen to
the instructions given over team speak/raid channel and follow them.
- Expect the raid to last until its
posted time; however, it may be extended one-half hour at the discretion of
the raidleader after input (or a vote) is solicited from the raiders.
- Although the point is to have fun,
without structure nothing would get accomplished. Chatter in raidsay,
although acceptable, should be kept to a minimum
- Each person is expected to do his/her
job - standing around when you should be engaging or vice-versa is
counterproductive.
- No person may loot except with
permission. Do not kneel on any corpse unless you're asked to do so.
- Ask for buffs specifically to someone
who can give you what you want. Do not ask for buffs, water, etc as a
general question in raidsay.
11. Loot
Protocol: On this issue,
players are expected to be respectful of others; our rules are simple and are
based on fairness. Who is able to loot items on OoE sponsored raids will be
conducted as follows
- All loot will be determined on a
Can-And-Will-Use basis with preference given to Mains. In those cases where
raidleaders specifically request an alt be brought (for the benefit of the
raid), that alt will be treated AS a main for loot purposes.
- Raiders are limited to one upgrade
per raid per night.
- If you do not sign up, but show up to raid
then you will be unable to roll on ANY loot until after you defeat one boss with the
group that night.
- If you are late to the raid, and have not notified anyone
that you will be late, then you will be unable to roll on ANY loot until after you defeat one
boss with the group that night.
- Resist Gear, Recipes, Quest Items and
Defaulted Drops (defaulted being those items which represent no desired CAWU/Upgrade
for anyone) generally do not count against the "one upgrade per raid
per night" stipulation but may be limited by the raidleader in the
interest of fairness (see raidleader for details).

F. GUILD
BANK/ARMORY
1.
General
Order of Eternity maintains a cache of items for use by its members.
- The guild bank is administered by an officer
appointed to do so. A list of current officers is available in the
"Guild Members" forum at the top with the thread title
"Officers of OOE"
- Items available in the Guild Bank can
be accessed from the clickable, in-game "Guild Vault". You can
find Guild Vaults near your bank.
- Only fully-guilded (Crusader rank or
higher) members may withdraw or request items from the guild vault.
- Donations to the guildbank are
welcome at any time, simply mail items to the character "Ooebank"
(Do NOT directly deposit items, send them to "OOEBANK"
2. Withdrawals from the Guild
Bank:
- Fully-guilded members may withdrawal
items from any of the Guild Vault tabs marked "Full Access" (first
two tabs).
- Items may only be withdrawn if a
member has an immediate need for them (not to "stockpile" or over
time).
- Members found to be excessively
withdrawing may be required to justify their withdrawals
- Items from the Third and Fourth (Gear
and Rares) may be requested by sending a request to the officer in charge of
managing the Guild Bank (A list of current officers is available in the
"Guild Members" forum at the top with the thread title
"Officers of OOE"); include the character and level (on which the
items will be used) as well as what item(s) the request will be replacing.
Other officers assisting members in this way should send a message to the
appointed Guild Bank Officer saying whom the item was for as well as any
other pertinent details.
- Your request will be responded to
within a timely fashion (one week or less). To expedite the process, use the
message board for requests instead of in-game mail.
3.
Other Guidelines:
- You must be of appropriate level and
class to request or withdrawal items. Items may be restricted to class or
level at the officers' discretion.
- For requests, main characters have
preference over alternate characters of members for banked items. Alternate
characters will be considered if there are no mains with the appropriate
level for the item and the alternate character in question is played
regularly.
- When more than one member requests an
item and both players are of equal eligibility (as stated above), the
officers will make a determination based on level, class, playtime, and
proportionate upgrade potential -or
the item will be rolled between interested parties by an officer of the
guild.
- Guildbanked items may not be borrowed
or removed for selling or disenchanting. If you have replaced a withdrawn
item and it is soulbound, you may vendor or disenchant it as you like.
- Any member receiving recipes from the
guildbank must be willing to craft the item at no cost to a guildmate should
the appropriate materials be provided.

G.
MANAGEMENT
1. Guild Management
consists of the guild Lord, Lady, Chancellor and Officers for a maximum of 10.
If, for any reason, circumstances lead to OoE having more, promotions will be
suspended until this number is met. A
list of current officers is available in the "Guild Members" forum at
the top with the thread title "Officers of OOE"
2. Policy
and decisions are made using the
officer's section of the guild message board. It is the duty of every officer to
contribute. Unless the situation warrants a quicker response, any active vote or
discussion topic will be ran for one week (defined as 1 week from the date of
the initial post); at which time the guild Lord will make a decision (or
approve/disapprove any vote, as appropriate). The guild Lord is not tied to any
vote tally or majority opinion and may rule on any decision at any time.
3. Officer
Promotions: When a vacancy
exists, the guild Lord will solicit nominees or submit his own. A discussion
will be held after which the Lord will make his decision.
4. Officer
Demotions: Officers may be
demoted from their post three ways:
- Bad Conduct (See paragraph D2)
- Self-Removal (Resign)
- Inactivity In Game: Officers are
expected to fulfill their duties and/or participate in the affairs of the
guild. Being staged within the game World of Warcraft, a necessary part of
this is actually playing. Officers who are absent, or do not participate
in-game for long periods of time (generally 1 month or more) may be demoted
at the discretion of the guild Lord. This is not, and should not be viewed
as a punitive measure. Return to participation/active gameplay may
constitute reinstatement at the discretion of the guild Lord (and may cause
an overage in the officer cadre, see paragraph G1)
- Inactivity in Guild Management:
Policy and decisions are made primarily using the officer's section of the
guild message board (or other means of officer communication), and it is the
duty of every officer to contribute. Those not contributing to the in this
way may be demoted at the Guild Lord's discretion.
